The Baincourts lived a comfortable life. Adela was well educated and became a top plastic surgeon in Miami. Jose was a carpenter who owned his own business, and built up wealthy clientele to keep his work floating. Because of the hardworking efforts of both of his parents, Lucas never wanted for anything. Well, actually, that was a lie. The one thing he really wanted was a younger brother, and this was granted when his brother Wyatt was born. Lucas and Wyatt were inseparable despite their age, and the brothers decided that whatever career they wanted to go into, they would try to go into it together.
Of course, Lucas had a bit of a head start. His schooling finished before Wyatt's, and Lucas found himself with a Bachelors of Arts in Latin American Studies, but with no real job aspirations, Lucas took whatever jobs he could get. He started to take acting lessons on the side, and eventually his acting coach suggested that he move out to California where all the real acting jobs were. Lucas reluctantly agreed, and traveled to California, living in a small apartment while he went to audition to audition. The more Lucas auditioned, and landed bit parts in commercials and theater, the more he realized that this was something he loved and that he was good at. Sure, he had done a few things in College for theater, but he had never really taken it into consideration as a full time gig. But now? Now he was considering it.
In 1999, he was given his break in the new film The Mummy as Ardeth Bay, and from there his career went up. He took roles where he could get them, usually playing characters that were second to the main character, but he never truly minded it. He even went into television, landing the lead role in "UC: Undercover" in 2001, but the show only lasted for one season. Being in shows that only lasted one season soon seemed to be his MO, as he went on to be in "Firefly" in 2002, and even in "V" for three episodes in 2011. Television wasn't typically where Lucas was successful, but film always seemed good to him -- and soon the world of voice acting would be good to him as well.
Lucas became known as a man who would be okay with signing up for multiple film deals, as with the case with The Mummy franchise, and the Resident Evil franchise. He seemed to be okay with playing the same character more than once - and it was this ideal that brought him to the attention of video game maker Ubisoft. They needed a voice actor for a character that would be brought over through multiple games, and after a few tests and more than one call back, Lucas ended up landing the role of Desmond Miles in the Assassin's Creed video game franchise. Now that his character's time has ended in the franchise, Lucas has moved on to another potential game franchise of The Wolf Among Us, once again voicing the lead character.
His range in voices and his ability to get completely into character either in the recording studio or the set brought him more opportunities than he could possibly expect, and in 2013, he was given a chance to audition for a Marvel film. He hadn't known it then, but he ended up auditioning for Rocket Raccoon for Guardians of the Galaxy and after waiting a month of no answer (and pretty much moving on), his agent called to let him know he got the part.
With his career taking off, and always seeming like a man who has it all, Lucas is more than happy where his life is now.
Or, at least that's what he'll tell you, he's an actor after all.
• The more he works the more he wants to work. He can be a bit of a workaholic in that he gets really excited to go from character to character, job to job. This is part of the reason why Lucas will willingly sign up for characters that he can play more than once.
• Isn't actually one for nicknames, and is pretty sure his name doesn't come with a nickname.
• He does his best to get along with everyone, and because of that has gotten a reputation of being one of the more respectable and kind men in the business.
• Despite his happy-go-lucky persona, Lucas hasn't exactly been lucky in love. He was married for a short time in 2002 through 2005 to his college sweetheart, but it didn't last long. He was engaged for three months in 2005 after his divorce finalized, but it ended up being a rebound. He's really really really unlucky in love to the point that he's gotten annoyed/angry about it.
